Personal FLARE Highlights
Professional kitesurfer since 2015. I ran a kite school in Gökçeada, Turkey for five years before moving to Zanzibar, where I opened a small boutique hotel and spent the next three years kiting almost every day.
Over the years, I’ve been part of multiple international kitesurfing events, including the biggest Kite Fest in Egypt and the C Kite Festival in Mauritius. I also founded the travel agency Kite The World, organizing trips to some of the most remote and beautiful kitesurfing destinations on the planet.
I moved to New Zealand almost two years ago and instantly felt at home. For me, it has everything - kiting, flying, nature, and pure adventure. It’s one of the best places in the world for an adult playground of sports, especially for flaring.
Hi, I’m Ellie Dimitrova, a kitesurfer and paraglider from Bulgaria, now living between Zanzibar and New Zealand. I first got into paragliding after years of chasing freedom through kitesurfing, and from my very first flight, I was hooked. Paragliding feels like nothing I’ve experienced before, equal parts adrenaline and peacefulness, and it’s taught me to really trust myself.
I’m proud to be sponsored by both Flysurfer and FLARE, especially since I already knew so many people in the GO FLARE community before joining. It honestly feels like I’m part of a family, and I can’t wait for all the new adventures ahead!
